Julie Iffla
Hello and welcome to my site. I am very excited to finally have this site up and a presence on the web which is a proper forum to display my landscapes.

Hey, I CAN PAINT!

I've been a mother and a corporate working career girl most of my life. I began painting in a serious manner a few years ago when I started taking lessons twice a week from my dear friend, mentor and wise teacher, Mr. Fred Choate. I was living in Idaho at the time, single, except for my beloved Labrador companion named Sammie. I had plenty of extra time on my hands of course, I was a real estate broker and as most of you know, the market came to a screeching halt in 2006. Out of High School, I attended the Fashion Institute of Design in SF, have always had a passion for art and much later in my life after non ending continuous nocturnal dreams of myself painting, I contacted Fred.

I encourage you to also visit Fred's web site to which I have posted a link off the home page. He is a remarkable talent and for those of you fortunate enough to be living in Boise Idaho, he is an excellent teacher for all levels of painters.

I have taken intensive classes and workshops from Tom Szewc an extremely talented fine arts painter from Chicago, Venture Coy a very successful artist who works magical landscapes with a palette knive, and hundreds of lessons from Fred Choate.

You get to follow me as I journey down this artists path. I will be posting blogs on a regular basis and keeping you all updated of what is going on in Julie's world.  I am a founding member of the Idaho Painters Guild which is a group of like minded painting students who support each other in their painting endeavors. The group is flourishing and after my relocation to Utah, I miss them all greatly. Rog Lyngaas, one of the members, has a remarkable blog of which I have posted a link on the home page.

Of the showings I have had, they have all been very successful with more than anticipated sales of my paintings at each show. I also took several awards in the Idaho State Fair in 2008 with three of my landscapes including "Best Lanscape Painting", "Best Idaho Landscape" and second place "Best Seascape".
